SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Package customer switches to order specifications. Coordinate pulling of stock switches. Perform audits of packaging/shipping department. Train packagers in proper packaging techniques. Perform daily audits of packaging as required. Perform daily audits of orders being shipped to assure correctness of order as required.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Package orders in accordance with prescribed level of importance. Perform cycle counts.

Communicate with Sales and Order processing on an ongoing basis to process changes to shipping and packaging instructions. Receive and transfer stock switches.

Identify and withdraw all piece parts needed to fulfill shipping requirements for the week from the stockroom.

Work with backlog report for status of orders needed for the week. Communicate priorities to Assembly and Final Test.

Receive and close out switch manufacturing orders and correct errors as required.

Transport completed switches from final inspection area to Packaging/Shipping area.

Perform other duties as assigned or as may be necessary.

 

 SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Audit customer picks lists, highlighting special packaging/ shipping instructions.

Assign priorities and daily picking requirements to stock pullers.

Perform job responsibilities of receiving personnel as required

Perform daily audits of switches being received into Packaging to assure correctness of orders.

 

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires a level of knowledge that is usually associate with a high school diploma plus one to three years of production control/packaging experience along with computer experience.  Must have experience with ERP systems as well as experience with FedEx, UP and DHL systems.  Previous lead experience required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Required to sit, stand, bend and lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Combination of Manufacturing and Office environment
  • Regular exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold and odors
