SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Total responsibility for leadership and management of Engineering and New Product Development. Reports to the Vice President and General Manager.
Overall technical responsibility for products, manufacturing processes and new product development.
Generation of engineering drawings.
Maintenance of drawing system, drawings and other technical documentation.
Product testing as required.
Providing technical support to sales, manufacturing and other departments.
Generation of capital requests as required for the acquisition of new equipment to improve processes or improve productivity or to replace obsolete or unmaintainable equipment.
Work place safety in areas of responsibility.
Insure that employees receive training as required.
Communication of Electroswitch and departmental objectives to all employees.
Keeping management informed on key issues.
Establishment of departmental budgets and management of department to achieve approved budget performance.
Provide departmental leadership relative to employee participation, innovation and continuous improvement.
Develop and meet departmental goals as approved by the Vice President and General Manager.
Manage department in accordance with operating policies and procedures.
Insure that employees are treated with respect and dignity.
Work as a team with other members of management and other employees to achieve overall company objectives.
Manage department in a professional manner with unquestioned integrity.
Participate in or lead cross-functional teams
Assume other activities and responsibilities as directed.
This position requires a level of knowledge usually associated with a Technical Engineering Degree, BS or MS, and twenty years of applicable experience.
TRAINING and REQUIREMENTS:
General Safety, Quality System Awareness, ISO9000, Hazardous Communications Training (MSDS), Evacuation Training, Network Drives, Public Folders, Syteline Training.
Regularly required to sit, stand and walk onto the shop floor.
